Finding Your Way Around ComplianceGo

Where search, the site list, favorites and routes live, and what each dashboard counter is telling you.

Description: Where search, the site list, favorites and routes live, and what each dashboard counter is telling you.

Overview

Everything in ComplianceGo starts from the left panel. It holds a search button, a row of four tabs, and a map button. The first of those tabs is your dashboard, which totals outstanding work across all your sites.

This article covers both: getting to a site, and reading the counters that tell you which site to go to.

The Left Panel

The panel stays with you everywhere in ComplianceGo.

Searching for a Site

  1. Click the magnifier.

  2. Type at least the first three letters of the site's name — the search starts from the third character.

  3. The match count appears — for example, 1 Match found — with the matching sites listed. Click one to open it.

📝 The All / Active / Inactive filter starts on Active. It sits above the results, and a deactivated site won't be found until you switch to All or Inactive. This is the usual reason a site you know exists doesn't come up.

💡 Before you type, the panel shows your Recent Searches, so a site you looked up yesterday is one click away.

Browsing the Site List

The pin tab lists every site you can access, sorted alphabetically and grouped by letter (Order by: Alphabetical at the top). Click a site to open it.

It lists every site you hold a role on, whether or not you remember its exact name.

Favoriting the Sites You Use Most

  1. Open a site.

  2. Click the star next to the site's name at the top of the page. It fills in.

  3. The site now appears under the star tab in the left panel.

Click the star again to remove it. Favorites are yours alone — starring a site doesn't change anything for anyone else.

Until you've starred something, the star tab shows: Use the “Star” icon to add it here as one of your favorites.

Your Dashboard Counters

The house tab is what you land on when you sign in. Each counter totals something needing attention across all your sites. A counter with work behind it turns red; zeros stay gray.

Counter

What it counts

Due or Late Inspections

Sites with an inspection that's due or late

Due or Late Action Items

Action items that are due or late, grouped by site

Weather Alerts

Weather alerts sent in the last 48 hours

Expiring or Expired Permits

Permits that have reached a reminder you set, or passed their expiration date

Sites Missing Plan

Sites with no plan document — for a construction site, the SWPPP

Sites Missing Map

Sites with no site map uploaded

Click a counter to expand it, and each affected site is listed underneath with its own count. Click the site name to open it.

📝 Your list may not look exactly like this. The counters depend on how your organization is set up. Organizations that share sites with an MS4 see some counters split — one for operator sites, one for MS4 sites — and some setups add counters such as Sites Missing Permits.

The Map

The map button on the right of the tab row shows your sites as pins on a map.

What Happens Next

Counters are totals of outstanding work, not notifications — there's nothing to dismiss or mark as read.

Completing an inspection updates the counters straight away, with no reload needed.

📝 Other work doesn't refresh them immediately. Closing an action item, renewing a permit or uploading a site map changes the underlying data, but the counters keep showing the figures from when they were loaded. Reload ComplianceGo to bring them up to date.

⚠️ Weather Alerts is a 48-hour window anchored to the alert, not to your work. An alert drops off 48 hours after it was sent — completing the inspection doesn't remove it, and rain from three days ago won't show at all. For the full record, open the site's Weather Events Report.

FAQ

Q: Search finds nothing, but I know the site exists.

A: Either you've typed fewer than three characters, or the site is inactive and the filter is on Active. Type at least three letters, or switch the filter to All.

Q: A site is missing from the pin tab.

A: You only see sites you hold a role on. Ask an editor on that site to add you.

Q: I starred a site but a colleague doesn't see it.

A: Favorites are per person. They can star it themselves.

Q: The routes tab is empty.

A: No route includes you. Routes are assembled by an administrator — see Working Through an Inspection Route.

Q: A counter I expected shows 0.

A: Nothing in that category currently needs attention. The dashboard only counts open work.

Q: I closed an action item but the counter hasn't changed.

A: Counters refresh when an inspection is completed, not after every change. Reload ComplianceGo and the count will catch up. The same applies after renewing a permit or uploading a site map.

Q: A colleague sees counters I don't.

A: The counter set depends on your organization's account setup, so compare within the same organization rather than across two.

Q: Rain fell yesterday but Weather Alerts shows 0.

A: No alert was sent — either the site's threshold wasn't crossed, or the alert has already aged out of the 48-hour window. Check the site's Weather Events Report for the full record.

Q: A site I expected is missing from under a counter.

A: You only see sites you hold a role on. Ask an editor to add you to the site.

Q: Sites Missing Plan flags a site I think is fine.

A: The site has no plan document attached — for a construction site, that's the SWPPP. Upload it under the site's Documents.
