How to use the Farm Timeline and impact tracking

Use the Farm timeline to record events and changes you make and understand their impact on key farm metrics.

Updated over a year ago

The Farm timeline shows events and changes on the farm in chronological order, providing context and helping you evaluate their impact. Some events are added automatically, for example, if you give feedback on an Insight. We also automatically add ration change events from feed software (currently for EZfeed only).

Add events for changes you make to monitor impact on key metrics

You can add events manually when you make a change on the farm by clicking Add event above the Farm timeline or using the + button in the lower right corner.

Tip: Use the filter at the top of the timeline to easily sort events per type.

Tracking the impact of changes on farm metrics

The app automatically monitors the impact of events added on the timeline on key metrics like Milk yield, Dry matter intake, Feed efficiency, Eating time, Ruminating time and more*.

The first results will be available after 3 days, followed by 1, 2 and 4 weeks. When the results are ready you will see the value before and after the event, helping you understand the impact of changes you make.

Tip: The app tracks a default set of metrics for all events, but once the first results are ready you can add other metrics that are relevant for you to the analysis. Simply scroll to the bottom and select other metrics you want to track.

*Tracked metrics vary depending on data available on the farm and the event type.

Note that for events impacting multiple groups/pens the results shown are the direct average of the groups.
