Receipt Printer Overview

Corksy recommends using PAX terminals with built-in receipt printing for the most seamless experience. If you prefer a standalone receipt printer, Corksy integrates with PrintNode, a third-party service that enables printing from the Corksy POS.

Please reach out to hardwaresupport@corksy.io to obtain your PrintNode credentials and API key.

Standalone Printer Requirements

To use a standalone receipt printer with Corksy, you’ll need:

  • An on-site laptop or desktop computer capable of running the PrintNode client app

  • A supported receipt printer:

Recommended Models:

  • Epson TM-T20III — Ideal for Ethernet or USB connections

  • Star TSP143IIIW — Ideal for WiFi connections

Connectivity and Software Setup

1. Ensure Printer Connectivity

Your computer must recognize the printer via one of the following:

  • WiFi (wireless models)

  • Ethernet (wired models)

  • Direct USB (plug-in models)

If you need assistance with this, please see the connection instructions for each printer/operating system.

You may need to install the printer driver from the manufacturer's website - Epson and Star.

2. Install PrintNode Software

Corksy uses PrintNode to manage receipt printing.

If you have not requested your PrintNode credentials and API key, please reach out to hardwaresupport@corksy.io

To set it up:

  • Download the PrintNode client here

  • Install it on the computer connected to the receipt printer

  • Use the login credentials provided by Corksy Hardware Support

  • You’ll also receive a unique API key — make sure to save this, as you'll need it later

  • Once installed and running, the printer should appear in the PrintNode client with a Printer ID listed next to the name — you will need this to connect to the POS

Connecting PrintNode to Corksy POS

After retrieving the Printer ID and API key, you can link your printer to Corksy POS.

Steps:

  1. Log in to the Corksy POS

  2. Click the menu (☰) icon in the top left

  3. Navigate to Settings > Printer Settings

  4. In the Printer dropdown, select PrintNode

  5. Enter:

    • The Printer ID shown in the PrintNode client

    • The API key provided by Corksy

  6. Click Print to test the connection

Troubleshooting and Final Steps

If the printer doesn’t appear or fails to print:

  1. Restart the PrintNode client

  2. Verify the printer is correctly connected (WiFi, USB, or Ethernet)

  3. Confirm the correct printer driver is installed

  4. Reinstall PrintNode if necessary
