Two Ways to Create Events

Corksy offers two methods for handling events:

  1. Wine Tasting Reservation Tool – Best for online reservations and prepaid ticketing.

  2. Event as a Product – Best for walk-in customers or manual POS sales.

Using the Wine Tasting Reservation Tool

  1. Navigate to Reservations > Wine Tasting Tool.

  2. Create an event and set:

    • Event Name

    • Description

    • Date & Time Slots

    • Ticket Limits (based on available tables or capacity)

  3. Customers can:

    • View the event on your website.

    • Reserve slots and purchase tickets online.

  4. This tool lets you restrict reservations based on your seating or table limits.

Use this option for planned events and to manage guest flow online.

Creating an Event as a Product

For in-person walk-ins, or when reservations are not used:

  1. Go to Products > Create New Product.

  2. Select Product Type: Other (or create a dedicated “Event” type).

  3. Fill in:

    • Event name and description.

    • SKU (for tracking event sales separately).

  4. Enable the product in POS for quick selling.

Important: If you use both methods (Reservation Tool + Event Product), reporting will be split between these systems.

Reporting for Events

  • Reservation Tool Reports:

    • Go to Reservations > Current.

    • Export a list of all prepaid or reserved customers.

  • Event Products Reports:

    • View in Sales Reports by:

      • Product Type

      • SKU

  • Keep in mind:

    • Reservation tool reports and product-based event reports are separate.

Best Practices for Event Management

For capacity control: Use the Reservation Tool and set ticket limits per time slot.
For walk-in tastings: Create a POS event product for easy transactions.
For reporting clarity: Track reservation events separately from POS events.
Avoid overbooking: Reservation Tool helps prevent overselling when space is limited.
