Email Server: Add a Google Workspace Email Account
Email Server: Add a Google Workspace Email Account
Updated over a week ago

Please note: a Google Workspace email account is NOT a gmail.com email account! We are referring to any professional email account linked to your domain, created inside Google Workspace - for example: yourname@yourdomain.com.

Google workspace does not allow CCK to use the email password you created when you set up your professional Google Workspace email account.

To get around this, you need to enable less secure apps in Google Workspace for your profile and set up an app-specific password.

  1. To get started, switch on 2-Step Verification on your Google account. Click here to read how to switch this on. Once you enabled 2-Step Verification on your Google account, you can create an app password for CCK.

  2. Next, create an app password in your Google account. Read more about creating an app password in your Google account here.

Click here to create an app password for CCK inside your Google account. Make sure that you are signed into the correct Google account at the top right side of your screen. Select Mail and your device type, as shown below:

  3. Copy the app password and save this somewhere where you will find it again - you will not be able to see this again! The App Password is the 16-character code in the yellow bar on your device.

  4. Click done once you saved your app password.

  5. Follow these steps to add your email account to the Email Server application in CCK:

  6. Remember to add your newly created app password in the SMTP password field shown below.
