Add or Edit Course Lesson Pages and Dashboards
Updated over a week ago

As a course creator, you need the ability to be able to add course dashboards and lesson pages to your CCK website.

CCK offers the ability to add multiple dashboards and as many lesson pages as you need. Depending on the template you have installed on your CCK account, you might have a single dashboard with a few modules laid out, or you might have some of our latest templates, which have up to four course dashboards.

How to add Additional Dashboards

To add a new course dashboard to your CCK website, select one of the dashboard pages already built into your installed template from the pages menu, click on the settings icon and click on duplicate.

Once you have the duplicated dashboard, you can view the different block options depending on the number of modules you need. Click on the This block is hidden, click to reveal option as shown below to view the different block options.

The below block is used when having 2 courses for example:

The below block is used when having 3 courses for example:

πŸ“Œ Remember to hide the blocks you would not be using instead of deleting them, as you may need to expand the number of courses on the main dashboard in future.

Another option is to copy individual blocks from other dashboards and add them to the desired dashboard to expand the number of courses or modules you need.

Navigate to the block you would like to copy, click on the Block menu and then on the copy icon as shown below:

Then head over to the page you would like to add the copied block and click on the copy icon at the top left of each page, drag and drop the copied container on the dashboard you are working on.

The last copied container will always move to the top of the list of copied containers

How to Relink Your Main Website Menu Dashboard Item

Once you have updated your course dashboard with new blocks or a new dashboard page, you need to correct the links on each button. Simply click on each button and click on the link icon in the editor menu.

Select the relevant pages the buttons should be linked to:

How to Add Lesson Pages

Should you wish to add more lesson pages than what is included in your installed template in your CCK account, we recommend that you first move some of the existing lesson pages from existing modules by updating the group under which the existing pages are located to the module you need to add additional lesson pages.

As all lesson pages have already been numbered and in numerical order, it would be easier to simply move the pages first instead of having to create new pages and having to rename and update the URL for all of your existing lesson pages, updating their numerical order.

To change the order of your existing lesson pages, head over to the first lesson page in Module 2, click on the settings icon as shown below:

Update the group on the settings menu to Module 1:

The above steps needs to be repeated depending on the number of lessons you require per module.

After moving up all the lesson pages as described above, head over to the last module page group on your installed website template and duplicate the last lesson page:

Navigate to the settings of the duplicated page to rename the page, update the URL, add to the correct group and also update the SEO settings if applicable.

πŸ“Œ Don't forget to also update the button text and links on the newly added lesson pages.

How to Add or Update a Global Column

Once you have added or updated the course dashboard or lesson pages, it is vital that you also update the global column for your course in order for the navigation on the menu is correct.

To edit the global column double click on the menu or click on Edit Menu in the editor bar and update the menu by either renaming the menu links or adding additional menu items as shown in the screenshot below:

Select the correct pages the menu item should be linked to in the popup:
