Select the default program you use for writing invoices.

Under Main Menu > Tools Menu, click:

Select a default program if you plan to convert estimates to invoices using either Excel, QuickBooks Desktop or QuickBooks Online.

  1. Click the dropdown arrow.

  2. Select either of the three programs.

  3. Click Save Settings.

  4. Your choice will be the default when creating invoices.

If QuickBooks Online is your choice, you'll have an opportunity to connect to your existing QuickBooks company.

Click to connect to your QuickBooks Online Account.

Sign in to connect with your QuickBooks Online account.

Check Use Default Accounts to let National Estimator Cloud create default income and expense accounts when exporting invoices to QuickBooks Online. If Use Default Accounts is not checked, the dropdown option lets you select existing accounts from your QBO company.

Here are some advantages to exporting invoices to Excel, Quickbooks Desktop or QuickBooks Online.

  • Exported invoices can show all work items in your bid. That leaves no doubt about what’s been done and the charge.

  • Simplifies tracking job costs and accounting for receivables.

  • You can bill for work completed each pay period (progressive billing). National Estimator Cloud keeps track of the percent completed for each work item.

  • Helps keep track of what’s been billed and what’s been collected on each job.
