Payment Options for Gigs

A quick explainer on how every payment option within Crema works.

Updated over a week ago

With Crema, you can select the way you get paid. We offer three payment options you can choose from, Single Payments, Multiple Payments, and Recurring Payments.

Once you have clicked on “Create new gig”, and followed the steps of Naming you gig, putting the deliverables of the gig, and the terms and conditions, it is time to choose how you want the gig to be paid.

Single Payment

This is the option where the gig, or project, gets paid in one payment.

  • Use for one-time payments

  • Short projects

  • No need for client account

Multiple Payments

Split the payment of the gig, or project, into several payments.

  • Use for collecting advance payment

  • Use for long-term projects

  • Client account needed

For example, if you want a 50% advance payment before you start, and the remaining 50% at a certain date, you can set that up here. Or, if you want to divide the payment into 4 more digestible installments for your client, you can do that as well.

You can choose how many payments the total amount gets split into, as well as the dates on which the payments get made.

Recurring Payments

This option lets you set up a recurring payment schedule. You can choose from monthly, fortnightly (every 2 weeks), or weekly.

  • Use for recurring payments

  • Client account needed

Whichever option you choose, the payment will be made based on that selected frequency. For example, you want to charge your client every month on the 30th. you simply select the recurring payments option, and select monthly frequency, and the 30th as the starting date.

The system automatically shows you the payment schedule, and you can send it to your client. Your client in this case, accepts, and, we will automatically charge your client every 30th of the month.

Multiple and Recurring payments require the client paying for the gig to create an account with Crema.

An account is required because payment information is stored in order to automatically charge the client.
