How to search for customers.

Updated over 8 months ago

Searching for customers is one of the unifying jobs among any employee in any industry. Whether you're just the one taking the phone call or if you need to dispatch a new unit, quickly locating a customer is something everyone should be able to do.

Fortunately, and as always, CRO makes this simple! The first place we'll head to is the most straight-forward way to search for customers and is especially nice if you need to quickly access their phone number or email address. It's the Customer List!

If you click on Customers on the left menu, you'll immediately be presented with the Customer List. This page is accessible to everyone in your CRO, regardless of their User Options.

Once there, you'll see several options. The one you'll be interested in is the box that reads, "Search Customer, Address, Sales Rep". That's right! You can search for multiple things in this field. If you search for a simple customer name, you'll be presented with every Billing Account and Customer Location (i.e. job site) that matches that name. Same goes for address and Sales Rep! Just enter what you're looking for and CRO will find it for you.

Now, that said, what you search for will need to match up with how customers are entered in your system. If your search isn't spelled the same way as the customer's name, then it won't show up. When in doubt, you can change the "All" drop down to "Billing" to exclusively look for Billing Accounts.

The next place you can go is the Customer Center. Our Dispatchers are very familiar with the Customer Center, but in case you're not you can always access it from hovering over Customers and then clicking on, "Customer Center." It will immediately pop up, no matter what page you're on.

Once in there, you'll see an orange drop down box that tells CRO how you want to search. You can search by Location Name, Billing Account, Location Address or by contact information (name, phone or email). No matter how little information you have about a customer (even just their phone number on a caller ID) you can immediately bring up their account in the system.

When using the Customer Center, you'll get a lot more information than you will from the Customer List. Fortunately, if you already have the customer up on the Customer List you can click on it... and it will open in the Customer Center!

If you'd like a deeper dive into the Customer Center we offer a full video detailing every aspect of it. Feel free to give it look if you'd like more information.
