Changing What Your Nominees Will Receive

When you add a nominee, Crux automatically creates a dedicated folder for them. Anything you place inside this folder (files, documents, notes, videos, or journal entries) will be what they eventually receive only when the time comes. You can add or remove items at any moment while you are alive.
Your subscription plan determines how many nominees you can have.

How to Add Items to a Nominee’s Folder

  1. Go to your Dashboard;

  2. Find the nominee’s folder (automatically created when the nominee was added);

  3. Click the folder to open it;

  4. Add items using:

    • Upload or drop (to add documents, images, videos, audio, etc.);

    • Create note or Journal (to write messages or instructions);

  5. Your nominee will eventually receive everything inside this folder after activation.

How to Remove Items From a Nominee’s Folder

You can change what a nominee will receive at any time.

  1. Open the nominee’s folder;

  2. Find the file, document, message, or note you want to remove;

  3. Click the three-dot menu (⋯) next to the item;

  4. Select Delete or Remove;

  5. The item will be moved to Deleted Files, where you can restore it if needed.

How Permissions Work in Crux

  • Nominees cannot see anything until you pass away.

  • When that time comes, they will only receive:

    • Files inside their folder;

    • Notes or journal entries assigned to them;

    • Videos, photos, documents, or messages stored for them;

  • You can add or remove items anytime before activation.

  • You can add multiple nominees depending on your subscription plan.

Examples of What You Can Assign

  • Entire folders created under their main folder

  • Documents (PDF, ID scans, contracts)

  • Photos and videos

  • Voice notes

  • Personal messages

  • Journal entries

  • Instructions or checklists

Troubleshooting

  • Nominee still sees nothing: This is expected. Nominees only get access after activation.

  • You added something to the wrong nominee: Delete it and upload it to the correct nominee’s folder.

  • Folder looks empty: Check if the item was stored elsewhere or in Deleted Files.

  • Can’t add a new nominee: You may have reached your plan limit. Check your subscription.
