Fan arrival patterns are an important consideration when planning your Light Show timing. If your venue experiences a natural ramp-up period where fans are still getting drinks, finding seats, or arriving late, consider positioning the Light Show at a moment when attendance has peaked and fans are fully settled — such as halftime or a post-match celebration. For major matches or rivalry games where fans arrive early, pre-match timing works brilliantly. For regular fixtures or events with later fan arrival, halftime or post-match celebrations typically deliver better visual impact and participation. The good news is that critical mass for an impressive-looking Light Show is only 15% participation, so even an early show with lighter attendance can still look spectacular. Some clients also run two Light Shows — one early to create FOMO and energy, and a second one at peak attendance that benefits from higher participation — allowing you to maximize impact throughout your event.
