Teams have observed that participation in a second Light Show activation during the same event can be lower than the first. This appears to happen for a few reasons: fans may want to use their phones to take photos or videos during later songs rather than keeping the Light Show page open, some fans who participated in the first activation may not rejoin for the second, and the novelty factor is strongest during the first experience. To maximize second-activation participation, artists should remind fans that another Light Show moment is coming and encourage them to have their phones ready. Despite potentially lower numbers, teams report that 10-15% participation still creates an impressive visual effect, and having Light Show moments at different points in the show (mid-set and encore, for example) ensures fans in different engagement modes get to participate.
