Layer Order Guide (Critical for FanSee)
⚠️ Layer ordering is critical to FanSee displays. Uploads must be layered correctly to display properly. Follow the layer order guidelines below for each output format.
Mobile View Layer Stack
Prior to Start
Bottom - Mobile Background: Base layer. Displays behind all other elements. If no image is uploaded, the Background color will be used.
Top - Home Screen Logo: Displays on top of the background. A PNG with a transparent background is recommended.
During Live Activation
Bottom - User's Live Video
Top - Mobile Frame: Displays in front of all live video. A PNG with a transparent section in the middle is recommended - this allows the live video to show through. Frequently includes event and sponsor logos, as well as messaging to hold the phone steady.
Mainboard Output Layer Stack
Bottom (Layer 1) - Output Background: Base layer. Displays behind all other elements. If no image is uploaded, the Background color will be used.
Layer 2
Left Image: Displays on top of Background Image/Color. A PNG with a transparent background is recommended. Typically used for a call to action, sponsor integration and QR code mobile link.
Right Image: Displays on top of Background Image/Color. A PNG with a transparent background is recommended. Typically used for a call to action, sponsor integration and QR code mobile link.
1:1 Fall Back Image/Video: Visible when activation is live, but no live video is streamed to a 1:1 space on the mainboard. This is on top of the Background and behind any live video feed(s) from users.
9:16 Fall Back Image/Video: Visible when activation is live, but no live video is streamed to a 9:16 space on the mainboard. This is on top of the Background and behind any live video feed(s) from users.
Banner Image: Positioned at the top of the display. Only visible if the Mainboard is set to 16:9, the Mobile is set to 9:16 and the Feed Count is set to 4. Often acts as the Call to action for this layout, as the Left Image and Right Image are not visible with this layout.
Layer 3 - Live Video Feeds: These will fill the 1:1 or 9:16 spaces - either 1, 2 or 4 feeds visible on the mainboard output at a time.
Layer 4
Output Frame (1:1 Mobile Feed): Decorative frame overlay for 1:1 mobile feeds. This is always on if uploaded. A PNG with a transparent section in the middle is recommended - this allows the live video to show through.
Output Frame (9:16 Mobile Feed): Decorative frame overlay for 9:16 mobile feeds. This replaces the default Phone frame that is visible when the mobile feeds are set to 9:16. If the "Full Screen" toggle is ON in the Control tab, this Output Frame will not be visible. A PNG with a transparent section in the middle is recommended - this allows the live video to show through.
Top (Layer 5) - Output Overlay: Decorative frame overlay for the full 16:9 output. This can work as an output overlay for 4:1 mainboard outputs as well - the design should be uploaded as a 4:1 that is centered vertically in a 16:9 image. A PNG with a transparent sections so the elements beneath are visible, is recommended.
🎨 Design Tip - Mobile Message: We strongly recommend designing the instruction message into the mobile background image itself, rather than relying on a separate element. This ensures the message displays correctly and cohesively with your design, as shown in the reference materials from your Client Success Representative.
💡 Pro Tip - Transparency: For Left/Right images, always use PNG format with transparent backgrounds. This allows the underlying Output Background to show through, creating the proper layered effect.
