How and where can I install the Cuez Automator?

Installation of the Cuez Automator is easy, but multiple options are available

Updated over a week ago

Downloading the Automator and where to install

The Automator app can be downloaded from https://download.cuez.app/automator, after which it can be installed either on a separate computer or on the same computer that is running the vMix (or other software) for example, which is what is done most often. The Automator app needs an internet connection, as well as access to port 7070.

All media downloaded by the Automator app (from your Episode, being your Script and Rundown) will be stored in a location that can be defined by the user. This can be the computer itself where the Automator is installed, the vMix computer (or NewBlue or…), or on a separate media storage device for example.

Installation

The Automator is a small application that runs as a service (in the ‘tray’ on Windows or in the menu bar on Mac). When opening Automator, it shows the port it is running on (7070), as well as on which IP address to access the Automator itself (127.0.0.1:7070 by default).

Once the installation is done, open your browser (Chrome is preferred) and go to the above mentioned IP address, including the port, after which you will see the Automator.

On first run, you will be asked to give the Automator a name.

Pairing the Automator

The next step is to pair the Automator with your Project. More details on that in the next article.
