How to create content in an Episode using keyboard shortcuts

Learn how to add content to your Episode more efficiently by using keyboard shortcuts.

As mentioned in our How do I add content to create an Episode? article, you will use Parts, Items, and Blocks to build and structure your Script and Rundown. To add these elements to your Episode, you can either use the '+' button or the 'Add block' option, or you can use handy keyboard shortcuts.

Adding Parts, Items, or Blocks using keyboard shortcuts

To add Parts, Items, or Blocks to your Episode, you can use the following keyboard shortcuts:

Alt + B

Before using the keyboard shortcut to insert a new Part, Item, or Block, make sure to place your cursor in the element before where you want to insert the new element.

In the example below, we will click to place our cursor in the title of 'My first Cue Block', then use our keyboard shortcut to insert a new Part in between the Clip and the second Part.

In the example below, we will click to place our cursor in the title of 'My first Cue Block', then use our keyboard shortcut to insert a new Item in between the Clip and the second Part.

In the example below, we will click to place our cursor in the title of 'My first Cue Block', then use our keyboard shortcut to insert a new Block in between the Clip and the second Part.

In a similar way, we can place our cursor in our 'Prompter' Block and use our keyboard shortcut to insert a new Block in between the Prompter and Clip Blocks.

When using the keyboard shortcut to insert a Block, you will see the 'Add Block' menu where you can use the arrow and enter keys to select and confirm the type of Block you want to insert.
