How to add a PDF to a template through an hyperlink

Learn about an alternative way to include PDFs in your templates without having them as attachments, using the hyperlink function

Currently, you can attach PDF documents to your templates by using the 'Add PDF' button at the bottom of the page. This allows users to open the file(s) while looking at the form.

Depending on the size of the attached PDFs, your form can take slightly longer to load or generate a larger file size when exporting it. To improve performance, you now have the option to link PDFs within pre-filled text fields instead.

To do so, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Template Editor for one of your templates

  2. Scroll all the way down, and select 'Add PDF' under 'Template Attachments'

  3. Upload your PDF

  4. Once uploaded, click on the file name above the file

  5. This will open another tab - copy the URL

  6. You can then add this hyperlink to a pre-filled text field, which will allow users to access the hosted file

  7. Remove the attached PDF at the bottom of the Template Editor
