Introduction

Site diaries are the most important daily tracking and record-keeping tool on construction and industrial sites, but managing your site diary with paper, word docs and Excel and then attempting to reconcile and make sense of those records is time-consuming and hard.

Dashpivot site diary app and software makes completing, organising and analysing your site diary data and records easy. You can fill in, clone and sign off on your site diary on mobile or tablet directly on site, and then all of that information is automatically sent to the software where it is displayed in graphs and charts.

All of your site diary entries are automatically sent to the secure 'cloud', where they are organised in chronological order and all of your records can be instantly converted into a register at any time. All of the photos and videos you capture with the Dashpivot app are also stored, accessible and easily searchable, giving you bulletproof project records.

Site diaries in Dashpivot

Key features

  • Organise your diary records in chronological order, with quick search and filtering

  • Clone yesterdays diary, and modify whats changed today

  • Link photos and videos to your site diaries

  • Automatically convert all your site diaries to a register, to view information from multiple diaries at once

  • Automatically graph data captured in your diaries (eg. labour hrs, plant hrs, subcontractor hrs, productivity), and filter by subcontractor, cost code, work area, work activity and other parameters you setup.

  • Download, print or send your diaries as PDFs, with professional layout and company branding

Best Practices

  • Include a photos field in the template. With Dashpivot all photos taken with the app record who took it, where it was taken, date and time stamp, descriptions and comments.

  • Use list dropdowns in your table fields by selecting the "list" option in the template builder. Dropdowns standardise the way you capture information, eliminate spelling mistakes, limit the options and are faster to fillout. Any quantity charts created in the analytics section will allow you to then breakdown or filter by the list items selected in those dropdowns and see for example, how many hours did Sarah work? or how many m3 of concrete was poured?

  • In the template settings, make sure to display relevant information (eg. work area, or date) so that records can be identified quickly

  • In the template settings, make sure the forms are sorted by the date on the form (and not by the creation date)
