[DRAFT] How to edit the settings on an existing Form

Learn how to edit an existing Form's settings in TeamUp, including requirements, timing, name, resubmission, and fields, using the new multi-step builder.

Written by Kate Biel

🔴 Reviewer note:

This is a full rebuild of live article 9333535 for the Forms and Waivers redesign (Jira CXC-7748). The live version was mostly a single embedded Scribe walkthrough, this pass replaces it with written steps.

Content updates made:

  • Replaced the single Scribe walkthrough with written steps describing the new behavior: clicking Edit from a Form's Details page now jumps directly into the relevant step of the multi-step builder (Requirements, Timing, or Fields) instead of restarting the whole flow

  • Added that Fields can now also be edited inline via drag and drop directly on the Details page, without entering the full edit workflow

  • Corrected the outdated claim that all fields on a form are mandatory, fields can be marked Optional, with a link to the Marking Customer Fields as Optional article

  • Fixed the broken "Add a Form" Jump to link, redirected to the correct live Create a Form article

Screenshots and placeholder links to replace before publishing:

  • The embedded Scribe walkthrough and its thumbnail image below are carried over from the live article and show the OLD UI entirely, this needs to be re-recorded against the new multi-step builder before publishing

  • Three Jump to links ("Introduction to Fields," "Understanding and using customer fields list," "Multiple choice fields") point to a broken legacy intercom.help/teamup URL and the correct live URLs will need to be fixed before publishing

📝 Overview

If you need to change the settings on a Form, such as which memberships and/or registrations it applies to, its Timing, the Form name, or its resubmission settings, this article walks you through it.

🛠️ Setup

From the Form's Details page, click Edit. This takes you directly into the relevant step of the multi-step builder, Requirements, Timing, or Fields, depending on what you choose to change, rather than starting over from the beginning of the flow.

You can also edit Fields inline via drag and drop directly from the Details page itself, without entering the full edit workflow. If you need to add or remove Fields instead, click here to see Add/Remove Fields to/from a form.

Fields are mandatory by default, but can be marked Optional in the field's own setup. Click here to learn about marking Customer Fields as Optional.
