Supported Tax Filings

Required for Tax Setup

  1. Account Number (9 digits, e.g., 1234567.89)

  2. Unemployment Insurance Rate (X.XX%)

    1. Career Enhancement Program Rate (0.5%)

Third Party Administrator (TPA) Access

DaySmart Payroll needs granted TPA access to pay and file this tax. Follow the instructions below to ensure there are no delays in processing:

  1. Log into the ESS account

  2. Select the More… tab

  3. Under Access Management, select Grant Third Party Access

  4. Select Next

  5. Enter the business email: taxops@salsa.dev

  6. Enter the Employer Account Number (EAN) for your business

  7. Select the Tax checkbox, then select File Wage Reports and Make Payments from the dropdown

  8. Select Next

  9. Review for accuracy and select Submit

Does Nevada have a state income tax withholding requirement?

No. Nevada does not have a state income tax, so there is no withholding requirement for employers. Only Unemployment Insurance applies at the state level.

What is the Nevada Career Enhancement Program (CEP) rate?

The Career Enhancement Program rate is a fixed 0.5% surcharge applied to all Nevada employers in addition to the standard Unemployment Insurance rate. It is required during tax setup along with your base UI rate.

Your Nevada UI Account Number and rate are assigned by the Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation when you register. Your rate is included in an annual rate notice. If you need to look these up, log into your Nevada UI ESS account or contact the agency at (775) 684-6322.
