Connection Quality Monitor in Onyx

Updated over a week ago

Onyx now includes a built-in Connection Quality Monitor that helps you understand your internet performance and how it may impact your trading.

This feature runs automatically in the background and gives you real-time visibility into your connection quality.

Where to Find It

You’ll see a new connection indicator in the top header of the platform, next to your account status.

  • Displays your download speed

  • Color-coded for quick visibility

Click the indicator to view full connection details.

Connection Quality Indicator

The indicator is color-coded based on your connection speed:

  • Green: 50+ Mbps (Optimal)

  • Yellow: 25–50 Mbps (Moderate)

  • Red: Below 25 Mbps (Poor)

For the best trading experience, Onyx recommends a stable connection of 50 Mbps or higher.

View Detailed Connection Metrics

When you click the indicator, you’ll see:

  • Download speed

  • Upload speed

  • Ping (latency)

  • Jitter

These metrics help you understand your connection stability and identify potential issues affecting execution or chart performance.

How It Works

  • The connection test runs automatically once per day when you load the platform

  • It runs silently in the background

  • It does not impact your trading performance

  • It provides a quick snapshot for both you and support teams

This allows faster troubleshooting if you experience lag, delays, or disconnects.
