Do I need a dedicated electrical panel for the dcbel system, or will a standard panel work?

Electrical Panel compatibility

A standard 200A service panel is required for installing the dcbel Ara Core. In addition, a backup load panel (or sub-panel) must be installed in accordance with local electrical codes, as it plays an important role in ensuring safety for your home or building.

What is a backup load panel?

A critical load panel is designed to support essential electrical systems during a power outage or emergency. It works alongside your main service panel and is connected to a backup power source, such as a generator or battery system. This setup ensures that key systems—like medical devices, security systems, and heating or cooling—continue to operate when the grid is down.

Many local electrical regulations require the use of a backup load panel to ensure that homes can safely manage essential loads and that proper protective measures are in place.

If you have any further questions or concerns about panels, we recommend consulting with a licensed electrician or contacting our customer support team for assistance.
