Adding Instructions to a Spec

Assign installation or specification instructions to individual specs. Instructions can be set up as defaults by spec type or added individually.

Steps

  1. Open the spec

  2. Go to the Instructions tab

  3. View the default instructions (assigned based on spec type)

  4. Search for additional instructions using the search box

  5. Click on an instruction to add it

  6. Click Save

Managing Instructions

Remove an Instruction

Click the X next to any instruction to remove it from this spec.

Add to Default List

To add an instruction to the default list for a spec type:

  1. Go to Dashboard → Global Settings

  2. Navigate to the spec type settings

  3. Add the instruction to the default list

How Default Instructions Work

  • Instructions are linked to spec types in Global Settings

  • When you create a new spec of that type, default instructions auto-populate

  • Example: All "Lighting" specs automatically include lighting-specific instructions
