An organization is the term for an entity that contains users, enclaves and credit cards. You can have multiple organizations on your console and administer different groups of users within them. It could for example be useful to silo different parts of your company and manage your Dispel implementation on any scale.
With organizations, your implementation and users are protected on all levels. In a single console you can manage permissions, enclaves, and billing across your company.
User Permissions (Link to permissions docs)
We link you to the full permissions page above if you'd like to check out the full breakdown of permissions on the console. But to summarize, there are three user permission levels within an organization that all can perform varying tasks.
Owner:
Can change organization name and remove the organization
Can add/remove all owners, admins and users from an organization and any enclave within that organization
Can see and access all enclaves within an organization
Can add new enclaves to the organization
Can remove all enclaves from an organization
Can handle all billing related matters
Admin:
Can add/remove admins and users from an organization and any enclave they are an admin in
Can see and access all enclaves within an organization
Can add new enclaves to the organization
Can remove all enclaves from an organization
User:
Can see all owners and admins within an organization to know who to contact if something goes wrong
Can see and access all enclaves they are a user of
But I'm not setting this thing up for a company
Since Dispel's Recon-Resistant Networks (enclaves) are mostly meant for enterprise use we've named the collection of people that are interacting with an enclave an organization but there is nothing stopping an organization from being any arbitrary group of people.
So how can I use this outside of my company then?
For example, you might want to protect your family's internet connection, so you create the organization Andersson Family. You then proceed to add the rest of your family as users, maybe your oldest daughter is an Admin, and you create an enclave for all of you to use with nothing but exit points and entry points. This way you've effectively built your own ultra-secure VPN.
But since you are the only one on the network actually keeping it in place - it might be a bit expensive for most families. This is why this is more of a enterprise offering in the first place. But if your family is large enough that you want to spread out the cost... why not? Get some neighbors in there!
