So you're ready to start using the best chargeback prevention company in the world? This guide walks you through how to get transferred over to Disputifier quickly and seamlessly, with as little gap in your alert coverage as possible.
Use this article to move your existing chargeback alerts, Ethoca, CDRN, and RDR, from your current provider to Disputifier.
Because each of these is tied to your merchant identifiers with a single provider at a time, your current provider generally has to release your enrollment before Disputifier can enroll you. This guide walks you through requesting that release and sending us what we need to complete your enrollment.
What needs to be released from each service:
The specific items your current provider must release differ by service.
Ethoca and CDRN: your billing descriptor and any enrolled variations
RDR: your Visa BIN/CAIDs
Note, who this article is for: This article is only for merchants who are currently enrolled in Ethoca, CDRN, or RDR with another provider. If you have never enrolled with a provider before, you do not need this article, follow the standard enrollment guides instead.
Minimizing Downtime
A few simple steps go a long way toward avoiding gaps in coverage:
Schedule your transfer for a Monday or Tuesday. Avoid Thursdays and Fridays so a mid-transfer handoff doesn't stall over the weekend.
Ask your current provider to issue Case ID as soon as possible, and pass those along to us right away, missing case numbers are one of the most common causes of delay.
Start early. Begin the process before your desired transition date rather than waiting until the final day of your existing service.
Why your current provider has to release you first
Your billing descriptor and BIN/CAID (Bank Identification Number and Card Acceptor ID: identifiers the networks use to route disputes to the correct merchant), can each only be active with one provider at a time. That means Disputifier cannot enroll you while your enrollment is still tied to your current provider.
If enrollment is attempted before your descriptors and BIN/CAIDs are released, it is rejected or only partially completed. For example, some descriptor variations may enroll while the main (root) descriptor is blocked because it's still tied to the other provider. A partial enrollment leaves gaps in your coverage.
đĄ If you're transferring from another provider, tell us before you submit anything for standard enrollment. If you've just installed Disputifier, let our team know you're transferring. This lets us hold standard enrollment until your release is confirmed and prevents a partial enrollment.
Request Your Transfer
To start your transfer, send an email to hello@disputifier.com and CC your current provider(s), asking them to release your enrollment and transfer your coverage to Disputifier. Keeping us on the thread lets our team assist with the handoff from the start.
Use the template below for that email. It asks your current provider to release your enrollment for the services Disputifier will enroll you in (Ethoca, CDRN, and/or RDR).
Email template
CC: your current provider(s)
Subject: Request to Transfer Alerts Coverage to Disputifier
Hello Team,
My name is [your name] with [store name] ([store URL]). I respectfully request that our existing Ethoca and Verifi coverage be transferred and released to Disputifier, effective no later than [insert requested transfer date].
Once the request has been submitted to Ethoca and Verifi, please send us the following. If any of these items are missing, we will not be able to complete the transfer on our end:
The Ethoca and Verifi case ID/reference numbers
A list of all the currently enrolled BIN/CAID combinations
A list of all the currently enrolled billing descriptor and variations
The currently enrolled programs
Verifi Partner ID if available
Thank you for your assistance and prompt handling of this request.
Because we're copied on the thread, we'll already have your released descriptors, BINs/CAIDs, and case IDs from your provider's reply, so there's nothing else you need to gather. Disputifier then will submit your inbound enrollment for Ethoca, CDRN, and/or RDR.
Note: include every MID. If you process through more than one MID (Merchant ID), make sure the release covers all of them. Any MID left out won't be enrolled, which leaves those transactions without coverage.
đĄ Only your current provider can release your enrollment. Disputifier cannot request or force the release on your behalf. Contact your current provider directly to start this. Receiving the case ID that confirms the release usually takes 3â5 business days.
How long does it take?
The table below shows the stages of the process and roughly how long each takes. Timing depends on the service and on how quickly your current provider processes the release.
The entire process can take longer if:
Your current provider has not yet released the enrollment;
Required information is missing;
Outstanding billing issues exist;
Additional transfer documentation is required; or
Multiple MIDs, processors, or alert programs must be transferred.
For this reason, we recommend starting the transfer process before your desired transition date rather than waiting until the final day of your existing service.
Common scenarios/questions
Would there be any gap coverage while transferring/switching?
Our goal is a minimum-to-no gap in coverage during a transfer, and in most cases that's exactly what happens.
The one factor that most affects this is how quickly your current provider releases your enrollment. Coverage with Disputifier can only be activated once your previous provider has released it, so the sooner they do, the smaller any gap will be. Most delays, and most coverage gaps, come from waiting on that release.
To keep the gap as small as possible, request the release from your current provider as early as you can, and ask them to confirm and share the case/reference number promptly.
I already installed Disputifier and started standard enrollment
If you're transferring from another provider, let us know before your enrollment is submitted, if standard enrollment has already been attempted, it may be blocked.
Contact our Support team via live chat to let us know you're transferring, and start the email thread requesting release from your current provider as described above. We'll pause your standard enrollment until your provider sends the required information and the release is confirmed.
My current provider won't release my enrollment, or it's delayed
If the release is delayed contact your current provider and ask them to fully unenroll or release the affected alert service.
If your previous provider confirms the enrollment was released but the transfer is still pending, our team can review the enrollment status and escalate it for further verification.
Enrollment transfers can sometimes take additional time depending on the alert network and how quickly the previous provider completes the release.
What to expect after your request
Once your provider confirms the release on the email thread, each service will move to In Progress while we complete your enrollment. You can track this in your Disputifier portal, where you'll also see an estimate live date for Ethoca, CDRN, and/or RDR.
When enrollment is complete, each service updates to Active and you'll receive an email confirmation letting you know it's live.
