Certification of Customer Due Diligence (CDD) Documents

Updated over 3 weeks ago

👉 As a Financial Advisor using the platform, you acknowledge the following responsibilities regarding Customer Due Diligence (CDD), in line with legal and regulatory requirements in the Bailiwick of Guernsey.

Compliance with Guernsey Regulations

You understand that the Guernsey Designated Administrator must maintain evidence of CDD in accordance with the current legal standards and guidance (“Notes on Handbook Requirements”) applicable in Guernsey.

Your Role as a Suitable Certifier

By accepting the Platform's Terms of Use and actively using the platform, you are recognized as a Suitable Certifier by the Guernsey Designated Administrator—provided your agreement remains valid.

As a Suitable Certifier, you confirm that any CDD documents you upload meet the following conditions:

a) Identity Documents with a Photograph

For documents used to verify identity (e.g., passport, ID card):

  • You have seen the original document

  • The uploaded copy is a true and complete copy

  • The photograph matches the individual

  • You have met the individual in person

b) Other CDD Documentation

For all other CDD documents:

  • You have seen the original document

  • The uploaded copy is a true and complete copy

c) Certification Details

In all cases:

  • The certification date matches the date the document was uploaded

  • Your contact details (email and phone) in the platform are accurate and up to date

Your Ongoing Obligations

  • You confirm that you have reviewed and understood the CDD requirements of Guernsey, including any updates or “Notes on Handbook Requirements” provided by the company or the Guernsey Designated Administrator.

  • You only upload documents you believe, in good faith, to be genuine and compliant with those requirements.

Notification of Material Changes

If you:

  • Become subject to any criminal, civil, or regulatory action

  • Have a professional qualification revoked

  • Are involved in any matter that could question your status as a Suitable Certifier

You must immediately inform the company or the Guernsey Designated Administrator.

The company and/or the Administrator may perform background checks using sanctions and adverse media tools and may request additional information as needed.

Discretion of Certification Status

Your status as a Suitable Certifier is granted entirely at the discretion of the company and the Guernsey Designated Administrator, and you agree to fully comply with their determinations and requirements.
