To send money to friends or family using the Dosh app, you must allow the app access to your contacts. This guide walks you through the steps to enable contact permissions on your iPhone.
Additionally, if contacts are not appearing, follow the troubleshooting steps outlined below to resolve the issue.
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Download and Open the Dosh App
Start by downloading the Dosh app from the App Store. When you open it for the first time, you’ll be prompted to grant access to your contacts.
2. Respond to the Permission Pop-Up
You’ll see a message like this:
"Dosh" Would Like to Access Your Contacts
This app requires Contact permission to send money.
Choose “Continue” to proceed.
Choose How You Want to Share Contacts
Next, you’ll be asked how you want to share your contacts:
- Select Contacts – Pick specific contacts to share.
- Share All Contacts – Allow Dosh access to all 403 contacts (or however many you have), including new ones added later.
Manually Enable Access (If You Skipped It Earlier)
This section also covers steps for troubleshooting missing contacts.
If you accidentally tapped “Don’t Allow,” you can manually enable access:
Symptoms of this issue include seeing no visible contacts being available in the Dosh app.
1. Open your Settings app.
2. Scroll down and tap Apps then Dosh.
3. Under ALLOW DOSH TO ACCESS, toggle Contacts to Full Access.
If the app still doesn't display your contacts, try restarting the app and ensuring permissions are correctly set. If the problem persists, continue with additional tips.
Once you have done this, you will be able to see contacts in the dosh app to select and send money too.
If contacts still do not appear, ensure your phone is using the latest version of the Dosh app and try restarting your phone.
