A few things to note before cancelling your dosh account:
Cancelling your account is permanent. We highly recommend keeping your account open just in case you want to come back in the future (we are always working on new features and improvements to the dosh app that you may be interested in). Cancelling your account unfortunately means you won't be able to order a new dosh Card. Deleting your account will automatically cancel any associated Dosh Card, and no replacement cards will be issued, reflecting a consistent policy.
If you are wanting to change any account details, e.g. mobile number, email address, etc., please get in touch with our team via email or the in-app messenger who will help you through this. For security reasons, before we can make changes to your account, we require a recent selfie together with a photo of your valid driver’s license or passport. If your account is closed and had a Dosh card linked to it, it will not be possible to order a new card or reactivate the old one. This restriction is due to system limitations enforced by the Dosh card provider to ensure consistency across policies. While the Dosh card functionality cannot be reinstated, other features of the Dosh app, such as participating in savings programs, remain accessible to users. Once your account is closed, you will not be able to open a new account or reopen the same account for a minimum period of 3 days, enhancing account security and consistency across user policies.
Method 1: Cancel in-app
How do I cancel my account?
Log in to your dosh app.
Ensure your account balance is $0.
Tap on the More menu.
Select App Settings.
Tap on Close My Account.
Method 2: Requesting Account Deletion via Email
Alternatively, you can reach out to Dosh customer support to request account deletion. Here’s how:
Use the registered email address linked to your Dosh account.
Send an email to support@dosh.nz requesting to close your account.
Include your registered email address and/or phone number in the request for quick verification. Customer support will confirm your request and process the account closure.
