There are a few reasons your dosh card might have declined. Make sure you’ve checked these off the list to ensure your card purchases are successful every time.

  • Insufficient funds

The dosh Card is a prepaid debit card, which means you need to add money to your Everyday account before you can use it. It’s super easy to add money. You can:

  1. Add money instantly in-app via Windcave. This option is instant, seven days a week and includes a flat fee of $0.70.

  2. Set dosh up as a payee in your online banking account. Open your app, tap Add – Via bank payment, then follow the instructions provided. Bank transfers are completely free and are processed within 2 hours 7 days a week.

  3. Make it even easier by setting up a recurring regular automatic payment from your bank account to your dosh account.

  4. Transfer money from any of your Stashes to your Everyday account.

  • Card limits set below the value of the transaction

Jump into your dosh app, tap Card – Settings – Limits. Here you can set your single, daily and weekly card spend limits to suit. It pays to check here regularly to ensure your transactions always flow through smoothly.

  • Card not yet activated

Before you can use your dosh card you need to activate it. Open your dosh app and follow the prompts.

  • Wrong PIN

When you activated your dosh Visa Debit Card you would have set up a PIN for your card. If you cannot remember your PIN, you can change it in the dosh app by going to:

Tap dosh Card - App settings - Change card PIN. Then follow the prompts to change your card's PIN.

  • Your card is locked

Check that you haven't locked your dosh card:

Tap dosh Card - Check that Temporary lock is toggled off

  • Incorrect CVC or expiry date

If making an online purchase, check that you're using the correct CVC and expiry date. You can find these on the back of your card.

  • A merchant doesn't allow for prepaid debit cards

The dosh card is a prepaid card. Some merchants may choose to not allow for prepaid debit cards at checkout by their discretion. Some merchants who don't allow prepaid cards includes buy now pay later services and TAB.

Why use your dosh card over the others?
