How do I transfer money to and from my dosh Stashes and Everyday account?

  1. Tap the Transfer button in your dosh app.

  2. Select the accounts you wish to transfer to and from by scrolling through the account previews.

  3. Tap on Transfer amount and enter the amount to transfer and then tap Description to add in a description if you wish.

  4. Tap done on your keyboard and then swipe to transfer. Your transfer is all done!

You can transfer money from any of your dosh accounts into another. Whether that’s between Stash accounts from one Stash to another or to and from your Everyday account.

Additionally, external funds cannot be directly transferred to a Stash account. To move money from an external source to a Stash, route it through your Everyday account first before manually transferring it within the Dosh app.

Dosh Account Types

Dosh consists of two main account types:

  • Everyday Account: Used for regular transactions and payments.

  • Stash Accounts: Designed for saving funds but cannot be used directly for payments. Transfers must be made to the Everyday account for usage.

Please note, to spend your money from your Stash account on your dosh card, you will need to transfer this money into your Everyday account before making the purchase. And, all funds in your Everyday account and Stashes accounts are securely held as by law in a New Zealand bank account. dosh partners with BNZ for this service.

There are restrictions in place: Stash accounts cannot be used for direct payments, and all funds must pass through the Everyday account for transactions. External transfers must always be routed through the Everyday account before being moved to a Stash account.
