What are bonus points?

Set up and reward short term limited points

Bonus points are short term limited points that can be rewarded and will be managed separately from the customer's regular balance and expiration.

The basics of the feature

Bonus points have a short expiration compared to regular points, and will be managed per allotment, where regular point balance is handled as a bulk. New allotments will not extend expiration.

Redemption priority

When customers redeem points, bonus points will be prioritized in all situations if they have any. If the total redemption amount exceeds the total gift point balance, the remaining amount will be redeemed from their regular balance.

How they are earned

Bonus points are earned in the following situations.

  • Earned as rewards
Each action reward can be switched between regular point allotment and bonus point allotment.

  • Imported via CSV
Bonus points can be rewarded in bulk via CSV import.

Only when imported via CSV, bonus points can have a specified expiration date. Otherwise it will follow the store settings.

Expiration rules

Setting it up

The default expiration delay for bonus points can be verified in the "Point Rules" tab in the easyPoints admin.

Default expiration

Select your default expiration delay between 2 weeks and 4 weeks.

Refund expiry

Select the expiration delay that will be applied to bonus point when they are returned to the customer due to refunds and cancelations.

Expiration timing

Bonus points will not be immediately deducted when the expiration date has been reached. The final day is on the closest fort night after the expiration date, the 15th or the last day of the month to be specific, and will be deducted on the next day.

e.g.:

Expiration date is 1st of May→ Bonus points can be redeemed until the 15th of May, and will be deducted at the opening of the next day

Expiration date is 20th of May→ Bonus points can be redeemed until the 31th of May, and will be deducted at the opening of Jun
