Edgefolio's fund universe is comprised of multiple databases, the main ones being the fund managers reporting on the Platform and Morningstar.

There are five types of funds visible in Edgefolio:

  1. Long-only funds

  2. ETFs

  3. FundOfFunds

  4. UCITs

  5. Hedge funds

You can also choose to show "Inactive funds" only by ticking the corresponding box on the left-hand panel.

Discovering funds on the Search Page

  1. Using the Keyword search - perhaps you already know what you are looking for, having heard of a fund at a conference or via word of mouth. Our Keyword search can be used to find a fund by fund name, strategy, management company name, management company location, ISIN number and even fund manager name.

  2. Using the Strategy filter. You can type any different strategy you have in mind, and just pick the corresponding one from the list that will appear.

  3. Using the AUM, Track Record, Annualised & YTD Return, Volatility and Drawdown filters. Select your target fund characteristics here. The latter 4 filters allow you to narrow down your preferences to the nearest percentage.

You can save your filters in the "Save Filter" box at the bottom of the page by entering a name for your filters here. Thereafter, your saved filters will appear in the dropdown menu under "Filter Sets" and remain discoverable during your subsequent visits to the search page.

In addition to the above, you can bring up specific funds, which you have previously "Favourited". To learn more about creating groups and favourites, please check out this article: https://intercom.help/edgefolio-helpcenter/en/articles/1234858-create-your-own-fund-groups

Viewing your search results on the Fund Search page

There are 3 ways to display you results: Results view, Map view and Plot view.

  1. Results view: This is a list view of your search results. You can sort these in top-left drop-down, which is pre-set to "Keyword". Sorting options include AUM, YTD Performance, 1 month performance, 3 year performance, CAGR, Volatility and Track Record.

  2. Plot View: This view plots annualised volatility against annualised returns for every fund in you search results. You can click and drag your mouse over the graph to narrow down your search results or zoom in on a chosen subset.

  3. Map View: This view plots your funds on a map of the world. Click and drag your mouse on the map to change location, double-click to zoom in (or use the +/- signs in the bottom left).

Can't find the fund you are looking for?

We offer a dedicated concierge service, whereby we onboard the fund you are looking for, should it not appear in search results. This fund would then be on-boarded to the Edgefolio system and will thus be fed into your tool automatically.
You can help us by providing a contact name of an employee at the fund (if known). We will notify you once the fund is on-boarded and you can start creating groups and portfolio, once the fund's profile information is available.

Learning more about a specific fund

If you wish to learn more about a particular fund, you can click directly on it's name on the Fund search page. This would bring up a detailed, interactive profile.

Here, you can print a Monthly Report, Factsheet or Peer Report and add the fund to a group or portfolio.
