Summary
The Recipes list shows every recipe with its key details - name, class, sub-recipe status, yield, sites, ingredient cost and status. From here you can search, sort and filter, open a recipe to edit it, make changes to several recipes at once, and export your recipes to CSV.
To build a recipe or change what's inside one, see Creating and editing recipes.
Viewing recipes
Open Recipes from the left-hand menu. The list has two tabs: Recipes and Recipe Book.
Use the site switcher in the top left to control what you see. Select a single site to view only its recipes, or All sites to see every recipe in your system, including any not yet assigned to a site.
The list shows these columns:
Column | Description |
Name | The recipe name. |
Class | The product class it's assigned to (for example Food). |
Sub-recipe | Whether the recipe is used as an ingredient in other recipes. |
Yield | How much one batch makes. |
Sites | How many sites the recipe is assigned to. |
Ing. cost | The total ingredient cost of the recipe. |
Status | Active, Draft or Archived. |
Search using the Search recipes box, and move through pages with Prev and Next at the bottom.
Sorting and filtering
Every column can be sorted and filtered. Select the sort arrows in a column heading to order by that column, or the filter icon to narrow the list - for example to show only a certain class, or only Draft recipes. Combine filters to find exactly what you need.
Editing a recipe
Select a recipe in the list to open its detail panel on the right. This shows a quick summary - ingredient cost, ingredients, price and margin by dining option, and assigned sites.
Select Edit to open the full recipe.
Make your changes and select Save.
The detail panel also has Production and Recipe Book shortcuts.
Editing several recipes at once
Bulk editing saves time when you're assigning several recipes to a new site or changing the status of seasonal items together.
Use the checkboxes on the left to select the recipes you want to change. A bar showing how many are selected appears at the bottom, with Assign to sites, Change status and Delete.
Choose the action you want to take.
To assign or remove sites:
Select Assign to sites.
Choose Add to add sites, or Remove to take them away.
Tick the sites, then select Apply. Use Select all or Clear to move quickly.
To change status, select Change status and choose Active, Draft or Archive. To remove recipes, select Delete and confirm.
⚠️ Deleting is permanent — deleted recipes cannot be recovered. Archive instead if there's any chance you'll want the recipe back.
Recipe status
Recipes have three statuses:
Status | What it means |
Active | Available for use at its assigned sites. |
Draft | Saved but not live anywhere. Use while you're still building or testing a recipe. |
Archived | Hidden from all sites but kept, so you can reactivate it later. Ideal for seasonal items or anything temporarily off the menu. |
You can change a single recipe's status from the Status dropdown when editing it, or change several at once with Change status (see above). Archiving asks you to confirm before it applies.
Archive a recipe when it's seasonal and you'll use it again, when you're taking it off the menu temporarily, or when you want to preserve the original while you revise it. Delete only when a recipe is permanently discontinued, was created by mistake, or should never have been in the system.
💡 When in doubt, archive rather than delete. You can always delete an archived recipe later, but you can't recover a deleted one.
Exporting recipes to CSV
Select the site you want to export from the site switcher in the top left.
Open Recipes and select Download CSV.
This downloads all recipe fields for the recipes assigned to that site. You can export one site at a time, so choose the site before downloading.
The Recipe Book
The Recipe Book tab shows each recipe the way your team needs it on the floor - the yield, the ingredient list, the method instructions and any photos or attachments added under Instructions & photo. Allergens pulled from the recipe's products show here too.
Search or use the filter chips to narrow the list, and select View recipe on any card to open it in full. To add or change instructions and images, edit the recipe - see Creating and editing recipes.
Troubleshooting
Can't find a recipe you created? It may not be assigned to your site. Ask a Manager or Admin to:
Select All sites from the site switcher in the top left.
Open Recipes and search for the recipe.
Check the Sites column to confirm where it's assigned.
