Template: Pictures

This template lets you add images to your interactive lesson

Updated over 2 years ago

The template offers 2 layouts: vertical arrangement or carousel gallery.

Vertical arrangement

The benefit of this layout is that pictures aren't cropped. If you add multiple pictures to this layout, the second and subsequent pictures will be hidden under the button Show pictures.

Pro tip: if you want to prevent the 'hiding effect', add multiple templates with one image each rather than multiple images in one template.

Carousel gallery

When you choose the carousel view, the pictures will slide horizontally. Note that you will have to crop images to fit the proportions. To see the image in full size, hover the cursor over it and click the button in the bottom right corner.

Warning: picture switching isn't synchronized between you and your students in a virtual classroom. Use screen sharing or instruct students to switch the pictures when needed.

Uploading pictures

There are 3 ways of uploading pictures.

  1. Click Add a picture and select a JPG or PNG file stored on your device. It will be uploaded into the template.

  2. Drag & Drop your files into the template window.

  3. Copy and paste image into the template window.

Pro tips

  • If you want to add images from the internet, you don't have to save them on your device first. Just copy it in your browser and paste in the template. Keep the copyright in mind.

  • You can upload or paste screenshots into this template.

Adding captions

Once you upload the pictures you can add captions to them in the Description field. This is optional and you may save the template without captions.

Drawing and typing in the pictures

In virtual classrooms you or your students can type or draw in the pictures. To see the drawing tools hover the cursor over the picture and click on the pencil icon in the bottom left corner. Select a tool and color, adjust the thickness and click on any place in the picture to add a text or draw a shape.

Synchronization in individual classrooms

The changes in a picture are completely synchronized between you and your student in real time.

Synchronization in group classrooms

Each student gets their own copy of a picture. You can switch between them by selecting which student's progress to follow. The changes are only synchronized between the teacher and the selected student. However, there is no common copy for everyone to edit.

If you need to synchronize the image between all students in a classroom, consider using the interactive whiteboard.
