Tickers are a great way to share breaking news, updates, quotes, or calls to action during your stream. In Effi, you can add a scrolling ticker to any scene and customize its design, behavior, and layout with just a few clicks.
This guide will walk you through:
Adding and playing your ticker
Designing the look and feel
Using the line break feature to control layout
Adding & Playing a Ticker
Select Your Scene, Open the Elements Panel
Open the scene where you want the ticker to appear and then click the Elements tab in the right-hand sidebar.
Add the Ticker Element
Scroll to the Banner option and select the Ticker style.
The ticker will be added to your canvas and appear in the timeline.
Edit the Ticker Text
Click on the ticker on your canvas to open the text editor.
Type or paste your message directly into the field.
Play and Control the Ticker
After placing your ticker, you’ll find playback controls in the Ticker Options Panel:
Play / Pause Button – Start or stop the ticker’s scrolling behavior.
Speed Slider – Adjust how fast the text scrolls across the screen.
🎥 To preview how your ticker looks during a livestream, click the Play button. This will simulate how it appears to your viewers.
Designing Your Ticker
Once the ticker is added, you can fully customize it to match your branding:
Font & Size – Choose from available typefaces and set the perfect size for readability.
Text Color – Make it pop or keep it subtle depending on your content.
Background – Add a background color to the ticker bar or leave it transparent.
Positioning – Move the ticker to any part of your scene using the drag handles or alignment tools.
You can also duplicate or reuse tickers across scenes to maintain visual consistency throughout your livestream.
Using Line Breaks in Tickers
Effi’s ticker also supports line breaks, giving you greater control over message structure.
To create a new line within the ticker, simply hit "Enter" while typing in the text field.
This is great for formatting multi-part messages, breaking up quotes, or spacing out items in a list.
Then choose from a list of provided symbols. These will appear between each of your lines, indicating your breaks.
✅ Pro tip: Line breaks can help prevent overly long scrolls and improve readability, especially for viewers watching on mobile.
