When fundraising live with Streamocracy on Effi, consider enhancing your event by adding a Donation Element. This feature allows you to set a fundraising goal and display a dynamic meter that tracks contributions in real-time. As the meter fills up during your broadcast, it not only helps you monitor progress but also builds excitement and encourages more donations.
Adding a Donation Element
Choose the scene you'd like to add a Donation Element to and open the Elements menu.
Choose "Donation" from the list of elements.
Select a style from the options and click "Add" to add it to your scene.
.Now that you've added your element, it's time to set it up.
Setting up your Donation Element
In the Build menu you will find everything you need to set up your Donation Element. We'll go through each of the input fields below.
Goal Name: This is the name of your fundraising goal and it will appear at the top of the meter. For example, "2024 Campaign Fundraiser"
Primary fundraising goal: This is the amount of money you'd like to raise. It will appear on the meter and dictate it's makeup. For example, using the image below as an example, if we set our primary goal to $10,000, each of the markers will be in incriments of $2,000 ( $2k, $4k, $6k, etc. )
Secondary fundraising goal: In the event that your primary fundraising goal is met during the broadcast, the secondary goal will kick in to keep the action going. So if your primary goal is $10,000 you will want to set your secondary goal to something higher.
No one will see your secondary goal, unless the primary one is met.
Donate prompt: This is the hashtag your viewers will use in the chat to make a donation. For instance, if you choose #donate as your prompt, your audience can contribute by typing #donate followed by the amount. For example, #donate20 would donate $20. You can customize the prompt to be whatever you like.
Advanced Settings
Once you fill out the input fields above you are ready to go. But the Build menu also contains a few advanced settings that offer some enhancements to your element.
Initial Value: If you raised any funds before this specific event that you want to include, you can add that value in this field. Otherwise you can leave it blank. Including those values will start the meter from there. So if you set the initial value to $2,000 then the meter will start at $2,000.
Donation Notification: With Effi, you can set up notifications for each time a donation is made. When enabled, this feature briefly displays the donor's username and the amount they contributed on-screen. You can also upload an audio clip to play a sound whenever a donation is received.
Instructions: When enabled, donation instructions will be displayed on-screen for your audience. You can customize the text to convey the message exactly as you'd like.
Congratulations, your Donation Element is fully built! Now all that's left to do is customize it.
Designing your Donation Element
In the Design menu you will find options to customize your element down to the last detail. Change backgrounds, fonts, colors, and borders for every detail of the meter, alerts, and instructions.
At the top of the Design menu, you'll find an option to upload a GIF. This is where you can add an image or animation that will appear on-screen when you reach your fundraising goal.
You've successfully added a Donation Element to your event! Now, all that’s left is to sit back and watch the donations roll in. But before we wrap up, there’s one last thing to note: At the top of Stage, you’ll find a progress tracker. This feature is only visible to those in Stage and provides a real-time view of your fundraising progress throughout the broadcast.
