How to create a modifier group.
Note - All items listed in a modifier group must be created as a Stock Item. Create all of your options as Stock Items first, and then create your Modifier Group once these are ready.
In the menu builder, select the ‘Products’ tab down the left hand side.
At the top of the screen, select ‘Menu Items’ from the navigation list, as below:
Click ‘Create’ in the top right corner of the Modifier Groups screen.
Name your Modifier Group, and be sure to also give it an internal name. This ensures that if you have multiple modifier groups with the same name, you can identify which one applies to which Menu Items. E.g You will likely have a ‘Size’ modifier group for each wine on the menu, so the internal name would be the name of the wine.
If all of the options on your modifier group are available to choose from, such as a selection of sauces with no maximum on how many you can choose, then you can leave the ‘Min’ and ‘Max’ selection boxes empty.
If you require 1 option to be chosen, for example the size of a glass of wine, then enter 1 and 1 in the ‘Min’ and ‘Max’ selection boxes, as below:
When you are ready, click ‘Create Modifier Group’, and you will see a popup which gives you the option to ‘Edit or Add Items’ to your Modifier Group. Select this option.
Scroll down, and add your desired Stock Items to your Modifier Group to create your options, using the blue + buttons on the left hand side of each option.
You can then set how much each individual option in your Modifier group will affect the price of the order. You can do this by setting prices as below, or clicking the red ‘P’ switches to % mode and setting % increases instead. This will vary depending on the purpose of the Modifier Group.
If your Modifier Group contains free options, such as complimentary sauces, simply leave the ‘Add/Reduce Price’ section blank and no price change will be made upon selection.
Once you are ready, click the blue ticks next to each price change, and they will be automatically added to the Modifier Group - you do not need to click ‘Update Modifier Group’.
The Modifier group is now created and you can return to the Products screen.
