Why integrate Emerge with Xero?

How it works

Log into the Emerge web portal

  1. Open web.emerge.nz on your computer

  2. In your Emerge app on your phone, go to ‘Manage’, and then tap on ’web portal’

  3. Tap ‘Scan QR code’ and re-authenticate

  4. Scan the QR code on your computer

  5. Once the QR code is scanned, it will prompt authorisation. Tap ‘authorise’

  6. Your computer should now be successfully logged in

Connecting to Xero

  1. Once you have logged into the web view, click on ‘Connect to Xero’ in the top right hand side of the screen.

  2. If you aren’t logged into Xero, you will be prompted to do so.

  3. You will then be prompted by Xero to allow access. Click ‘Allow access

  4. Choose your tenant accordingly

  5. Choose the bank accounts that you would like to connect. If you wish, use the date selector to export historical transactions. Once selected, click ‘Confirm’.

  6. Now you’re done!

How to connect additional bank accounts to Xero

  1. Click on "View Xero connections" on the top right of your webview screen.

  2. On the right of each bank account there are three dots. Click those.

  3. Once clicked, you'll be able to disconnect the feed for that bank account.

  4. You'll then be asked to confirm the disconnection. Click on disconnect.

  5. You'll always be able to reconnect the bank account at a later date by "Adding bank account"

What happens when the Xero connection is lost

When a Xero connection is lost, you’ll get a push notification on your phone. You’ll need to go into the webview to reconnect.

  1. Log into the webview, click on "View Xero connections"

  2. On the bottom right of your webview, there’s a button saying "Reconnect to Xero"

  3. Xero will then reconnect the bank accounts you have synced.

  4. And you're done! All your disconnected bank accounts will be synced up again.

What is a bank feed integration?

A bank feed integration allows you to automatically import your Emerge transactions directly into your Xero account. This eliminates the need for manual data entry, saving you time and reducing errors.

Does it cost to connect to Xero?

Our integration with Xero is free. You just need a Xero subscription.

Can I import historical transactions?

We automatically import your historical transactions when you first set up the bank feed so long as you select the correct date when first connecting.

How often are transactions updated?

Every two hours.
