How & Why to Create Groups (And Manage Them Effectively)

Updated over 2 months ago

In ENDVR, Groups are the foundation of your retail strategy. Rather than manually selecting stores every time you launch a mission or incentive, Groups act as "Evergreen" segments. Once a group is built, it serves as the automatic starting position for every campaign and a primary lens for analyzing your performance data.

Evergreen Efficiency

Groups should be viewed as Evergreen Segments. Instead of creating a new list for every single push or every time you're looking at your data, you build high-level categories that represent the permanent structure of your business.

The "Launchpad" Strategy

Think of a Group as a Fixed Segment. By organizing your network upfront, you eliminate the administrative burden of sorting your database during a launch.

Recommended Group Segments:

  • Regional: (e.g., Northeast, Rockies) – Use these for localized contests or regional rep-led initiatives.

  • Product Specialty: (e.g., Hardgoods, Apparel-only) – Ensure technical training only goes to the staff who sell those items.

  • Performance Tiers: (e.g., Platinum Partners, High-Growth) – Distribute higher-value rewards to your most impactful associates.

Why Management Matters

A Group is a snapshot of your retail landscape. Because it’s your campaign’s and reporting's starting position, keeping that snapshot accurate is the key to high performance.

  • Eliminate "Ghost" Targets: Retail moves fast. Regular updates ensure you aren't wasting resources on closed stores or inactive accounts.

  • Capture New Growth: When you add a new partner to an Evergreen Group, they are automatically included in your next launch. Don't leave your newest (and most eager) partners on the sidelines.

  • Clean Your Analytics: Removing closed or inactive stores ensures your data exports reflect your actual active network.

The "Gardening" Rule🧑‍🌾
A quick monthly check to "weed" out old accounts and "plant" new ones ensures your campaign engine is always primed for a high-stakes launch.

Getting Started

To begin, log in to your brand portal and select the “Groups” which can be located under the Retail Network tab. This is where you can create, manage, and organize store groups for campaigns and communications.

Below is how you can perform each of the actions described above in the ENDVR portal

Create a new group

Important Note
Choosing the Right Group Type

  • General Groups: Use these for standard campaign targeting and regional organization. You can include any store without restrictions. These are not linked to Sales Reps.

  • Sales Rep Groups: Use these to map stores to specific reps.
Note: A store can only belong to one Sales Rep Group at a time.

Step 1 - Select "Create Group"

Step 2 - Select Group Type

General Group
Use this group type to organize your stores for general purposes like campaign targeting, regional structure, or performance tracking. You can include any stores without restrictions, and these groups are not associated with any sales reps.

Sales Rep Group
This group helps organize which stores are linked to specific sales reps. Each store can only belong to one sales rep group, but a group may include multiple reps.

Step 3 - Name your group
You may name your group based on the campaign, the rep name, or anything that suits you

Step 4 - Add Stores to Groupo

Search for the store names you want to add and select them. Once all desired stores are selected, click “Create” to confirm.

Add stores to an existing group

Step 1 - Locate the group
In the Groups tab, search for the group you want to update and click on it to open.

Step 2 - Add stores to the group

Pro tip 💡

If you're searching for a store, such as an ENDVR Retailer Store, we recommend simply typing "ENDVR." This will display all matching results.

Including too much information in your search may make it harder to find the store you're looking for.

Important note

Step 3 - Confirm
Confirm and you're good to go 😄

Renaming a Group
