How Do I Restart a Previous Year’s Contest? (Entertainment-Only Commissioners)

If you previously ran a Self-Managed (Entertainment-Only) contest and want to bring it back for a new season, you can easily restart it using your past contest settings.

How to Restart Your Contest

Follow these steps to restart a contest from a previous year:

  1. Log into your Splash Sports account using your RYP credentials

  2. Navigate to the Commissioner section and select the Final tab

  3. Locate your previous contest

  4. Click into the contest

  5. Select Restart Contest

  6. Review and update your settings for the new season, including the title if needed (e.g., changing "pool" to "contest")

  7. Publish your new contest

  8. Re-Invite members to confirm participation

What Carries Over

When restarting a contest:

  • Most settings and structure will carry over (contest type, rules, format)

  • You’ll have the opportunity to update details before publishing

  • A new contest will be created for the current season

Naming Rules and Restrictions

When naming your contest, it is important to comply with state regulatory restrictions. Specifically, the word "Pool" is not allowed in contest names. If you encounter an issue while editing or restarting a contest, remove the word "Pool" from the name to proceed. This ensures compliance with applicable regulations.

Important Notes

  • Restarting creates a contest—opens the old one

  • You’ll need to re-invite members to join contest & confirm participation

  • As an EO contest, you’ll continue to manage payments and payouts offline

  • Ensure that your contest name complies with state regulatory restrictions. Specifically, avoid using the word "Pool" in the contest name to ensure compliance.

Don’t See the Restart Option?

If you’re unable to find the restart option:

  • The contest type may not support restarts

  • Out of season

  • You may need to create a new contest from scratch instead- If your contest is inactive and has no entrants, you are not required to pay any fees. Such contests will be automatically deleted after a certain period.

Fee Policies for Inactive Contests

If you have a contest that is inactive and has no entrants, you are not required to pay any fees. Such contests will be automatically deleted after a certain period. This automated process helps manage inactive contests without requiring additional action from you.
