Do Members Need to Pay for a Private (Self-Managed) Contest?

If you've joined a Private (Self-Managed) contest, all payments are handled outside of Splash Sports. Splash provides the contest experience — picks, standings, and reporting — while the commissioner manages entry fees and payouts separately.

Where to Find Payment Instructions

Payment details are provided by your commissioner. You can typically find this information in:

  • Contest Description – Many commissioners include payment details here

  • Invites or Messages – Check any emails, texts, or messages sent by your commissioner

  • Direct Communication – Your commissioner may share payment methods (e.g., Venmo, PayPal) directly with the group

Do I Pay Anything on Splash Sports?

  • Members do not pay any entry fees on Splash Sports for Self-Managed contests

  • All payments between members and the commissioner are handled externally

What About Service Fees?

  • Any service fee on Splash Sports applies only to the commissioner when creating the contest

  • Members are not charged by Splash Sports to participate in a Self-Managed contest

What Splash Does (and Doesn't) Track

Splash only provides:

  • Contest structure

  • Pick tracking

  • Standings and reporting

Splash does not process payments, hold funds, or track/manage payouts for Self-Managed contests — all financial activity happens externally, and we're not able to get involved in money disputes between commissioners and members since that exchange happens outside our platform.
