NFL Pick'em (Private Contests): Auto-Picks & Missed Picks

This is one of the most common support topics — "why did I get an auto-pick?" or "why did I score zero?"

  • Auto-Picks are opt-in by the commissioner. If they're off, a missed pick simply scores zero — there is no fallback.

  • When Auto-Picks are on, team picks and Over/Under picks use two separate fallback strategies (e.g., "All Home Teams" for winners, "All Overs" for totals) — set either by the commissioner for everyone, or by each entrant individually.

  • Auto-picks only fill games the entrant hadn't already picked by the deadline.

  • A commissioner can cap the number of auto-pick events allowed all season (Maximum Auto Picks) and can forgive a small number of missed picks per week before they even count as an auto-pick event (Auto Pick Forgiveness).

  • "Must pick ≥ X NFL/College games" and Auto Picks are mutually exclusive — turning one on disables the other.

Summary: No auto-picks on = zero for a miss, no exceptions.

Auto-picks on = missed games get filled using a fallback rule, up to a cap the commissioner can set, with small weekly forgiveness possible.

This feature can't coexist with sport-minimum pick requirements.
