NCAAF (CFB) Pick'em (Private Contests): What Is This Product?

Football Pick'em is a multi-week, private, invite-only by commissioner. Each week, players pick winners — and optionally point totals (over/unders) — for the games on that week's slate.

It's one flexible product. The "engine" is the same for every group; the commissioner just sets the dials to match how their league likes to play.

Summary: One contest, three settings to configure (sport, format, spread mode), unlimited ways to customize on top.

The Three Building Blocks

#

Choice

Options

What It Means for the Group

1

League / Sport Mode

College (CFB) only (this guide covers CFB-only contests)

Runs pure college football on the weekly picksheet, built from conferences and/or AP Top 25 games.

2

Format (scoring style)

• Standard
• Confidence

Standard = straightforward win/loss scoring.
Confidence = entrants rank their picks for variable points.

3

Point Spread Mode

• Straight Up
• Against the Spread (Splash-set)
• Against the Spread (Commissioner-set)

Straight Up only cares who wins outright. Against the Spread requires covering a spread — either Splash's live odds or numbers the commissioner sets by hand.

Beyond these three, commissioners can layer in additional customization:

  • Segments — mini-leaderboards covering a range of weeks

  • Groups — team-vs-team standings

  • Tiebreakers

  • Weighted scoring

  • Drop-worst-week

Clearing Up "Formats" — Standard, Confidence, and Best Pick

Format only has two real values

Standard and Confidence

"Best Pick" is not a Format

It's a bonus feature (Best Picks per week) that switches on inside a Standard-format contest

Cannot combine

Confidence + Best Pick can never run together
