Important: Contest Vault payout dates, availability percentages, payout limits, and the overall payout schedule are set and cannot be adjusted, expedited, or overridden by Splash Sports or the Customer Support team.
When can I start sending payouts?
Contest Vault payouts first become available 7 days after your contest’s payment deadline.
For example, if your payment deadline is September 17 at 10:59 PM, your first payout amount will become available approximately September 24 at 10:59 PM.
The exact date and time of your payment deadline determines when your payout schedule begins.
What is the Contest Vault payout schedule?
Contest Vault funds become available gradually according to the following schedule:
Days After Payment Deadline | Amount Available for Payout |
Day 7 | Up to 15%, maximum $1,000 |
Day 14 | Up to 30%, maximum $2,000 |
Day 21 | Up to 45%, maximum $3,000 |
Day 28 | Up to 60%, maximum $4,000 |
Day 35 | Up to 75%, maximum $5,000 |
Day 42 | 100% |
Your available payout amount will automatically update as your contest reaches each stage.
Where can I find my payment deadline?
You can find your payment deadline within your Contest Vault settings.
Make sure to check both the date and time. Your first payout amount becomes available 7 days after that exact deadline.
For example, if your deadline is Sunday at 10:59 PM, the first payout stage would become available approximately the following Sunday at 10:59 PM.
Why can't I send a payout yet?
The most common reason is that your contest has not yet reached the first payout stage.
Contest Vault funds do not become available for payout immediately after
the payment deadline passes. The first portion becomes available on Day 7.
Check your Contest Vault settings to confirm your payment deadline and count forward 7 days to determine when your first payout amount should become available.
Why isn't my entire Contest Vault balance available?
Your total Contest Vault balance and the amount currently available to send are not necessarily the same.
Contest Vault funds unlock gradually. For example, on Day 7, up to 15% of the eligible balance is available, with a maximum payout of $1,000.
Additional funds become available at each scheduled stage until 100% is available on Day 42.
Can Splash unlock my funds early?
No. Contest Vault funds cannot be manually unlocked before their scheduled availability date.
Splash Sports and the Customer Support team cannot expedite an unlock or make an exception to the payout schedule.
Funds will automatically become available as your contest reaches each scheduled payout stage.
Can Splash increase my available payout percentage or limit?
No. The payout percentages and maximum amounts at each stage are set.
Splash Sports and the Customer Support team cannot:
• Increase the percentage currently available for payout
• Increase or override the maximum payout amount
• Move a contest to a later payout stage early
• Shorten or bypass the payout schedule
• Manually release additional Contest Vault funds
• Override the Day 7 through Day 42 schedule
These restrictions apply to all Contest Vault payouts.
Can Customer Support adjust my payout schedule?
No. Customer Support does not have the ability to change Contest Vault payout dates, percentages, limits, or unlock timing.
If your funds have not yet reached their scheduled availability date, Support cannot manually make them available.
What happens if I extend my payment deadline?
Extending your contest’s payment deadline also shifts your payout schedule.
The payout clock will begin from the updated payment deadline, meaning the first payout amount becomes available 7 days after the new deadline.
Commissioners should keep this in mind before extending their payment deadline, as doing so can delay when funds become available for payout.
How are the payout percentages calculated?
The payout percentages are based on the funds in your Contest Vault as of the original payment deadline.
Payments received after that deadline are considered late payments and are not included in the staged payout percentage calculations.
Late payments become available once payouts fully unlock.
What happens to payments received after the payment deadline?
Payments received after the original payment deadline are not added to the balance used to calculate your staged payout percentages.
Those late payments become available when payouts fully unlock.
How do I know how much I can currently send?
Your Contest Vault will display the amount currently available to send based on where your contest is in the payout schedule.
You can also select View rules within the Contest Vault to review the payout schedule.
The amount available to send will automatically increase as your contest reaches each applicable payout stage.
How do I send a payout to an entrant?
Once funds are available:
Open your contest and go to Entrants Manager.
Select Send payouts.
Enter the Payout Amount for each entrant you would like to pay.
Review the total amount allocated.
Confirm the recipients and payout amounts.
Select Start the vote to begin the Majority Approval process.
Be sure to carefully review all recipients and payout amounts before starting the vote.
Does selecting Send payouts immediately send the money?
No. Creating and confirming the payout allocation does not immediately send funds to your entrants.
After reviewing the payout allocation, select Start the vote to begin the Majority Approval process.
The proposed payout must then receive the required approval before the funds are distributed.
What is Majority Approval?
Majority Approval gives contest entrants an opportunity to approve or veto the commissioner’s proposed payout allocation.
The commissioner first determines how the available funds should be distributed and then starts the vote.
Once the required majority approval is received, the approved payout can be distributed.
Can I pay multiple entrants at once?
Yes. When sending payouts, commissioners can enter payout amounts for multiple recipients as part of the same payout allocation.
Before starting the vote, review each recipient, their payout amount, and the total amount being distributed.
When will 100% of my Contest Vault funds be available?
100% of the eligible Contest Vault balance becomes available on Day 42 after your contest’s payment deadline.
At this stage, funds that were not previously available through the staged payout schedule, including applicable late payments, become available.
Does the commissioner control the payment deadline?
Yes. Commissioners control their contest’s payment deadline through the Contest Vault settings.
Because payout availability is tied directly to this deadline, commissioners should carefully consider the payout impact before extending it.
Extending the deadline will also shift when payouts begin becoming available.
What if I need the money available sooner?
Contest Vault payout funds must follow the established payout schedule.
Neither Splash Sports nor Customer Support can accelerate the schedule, manually release additional funds, increase your available percentage, or override a payout limit.
You will need to wait until your Contest Vault reaches the applicable payout stage.
Quick reminder for commissioners
The easiest way to determine your first payout date is to check the payment deadline displayed in your Contest Vault and count forward 7 days.
From there, funds gradually become available according to the payout schedule until 100% is unlocked on Day 42.
All Contest Vault payout dates, percentages, maximum amounts, and unlock stages are system controlled and cannot be manually adjusted by the commissioner, Splash Sports, or the Customer Support team.
