Dashboard and Widget Filtering

Written by Glenn Jones

Within both your Dashboard and each individual widget you'll find a series of Filters.

Dashboard filters are used to filter all widgets on your dashboard, whereas the filters found within a widget affect that widget only.

Users

User filters exist both within the Dashboard and Widget and work in the same way.

When set at the Dashboard level, this filter will apply to all widgets simultaneously.

When set within a widget, the filter will apply only to that widget.

Opening the User filter will display a list of all Core System Users - both Active and Deactivated - within your system.

Select your chosen users to apply the filter - your widgets will now automatically refresh to show only the information that relates to your selected Users.

The Metric User Field

When selecting users to filter by, Eploy will filter each widget according to the user type selected within the User field on each Metric.

For example, if the metric has Vacancy User selected, the filter will return only those Vacancies which the selected users are assigned to as Vacancy Users (these would typically be the recruiters responsible for that Vacancy).

You are no longer allowed to view information about selected users

Occasionally you may see this message displayed within a widget.

Each Core System User can have a reporting restriction applied to them meaning they're only able to view activity they are directly associated with (e.g. they are the Vacancy User).

If you see this message, this indicates that you have a reporting restriction against your user and the widget has had a user filter applied to it which includes users outside of your reporting restrictions.

There are two ways to resolve this:

  1. Contact the dashboard owner and ask them to update the user filtering on the widget

  2. Contact a System Administrator and ask them to amend the Reporting Restrictions against your user record

Use Logged in User

This is an additional option available within a widget.

Ticking this option will automatically filter that widget to show information relevant to the person viewing the widget

Organisations

The Organisation filter can be found within the Filter bar on your dashboard.

Open this filter and select the Organisations you wish to filter by.

Once selected, the Dashboard will filter all widgets to show information aligned to your selected Organisation records only.

πŸ“Œ Note there is no 'Include Children' option available, so you'll need to ensure you select all child Organisations if you want to filter for a complete hierarchy.

Vacancies

The Vacancy filter can be found within the Filter bar on your Dashboard.

Open this filter and select the Vacancies you wish to filter by.

Once selected, the Dashboard will filter all widgets to show information aligned to your selected Vacancy records only.

Date

The Date filter can be found both within the Filter bar of your Dashboard and within an individual widget.

The Date filter filters your widgets according to the Date filed selected within Metrics used in all your Widgets. If you have selected different Date Fields within your Metrics, your date filtering may be inaccurate.

For example, if some widgets have Vacancy Creation Date set as the Date Field and others have Vacancy Advertising Date selected, when you filter to Last Year, some widgets will display Vacancies created last year and others will display vacancies advertised last year.
