The number of positions being recruited for is a key component to a vacancy being live and active. Once you have filled all of the available positions on a role, it will automatically close, as well be no longer advertised. For this reason, its important to ensure that field is not only set correctly, but also tracked accurately.
Positions Available
You can set this within the vacancy requirements, alongside the location, function and department. The value of this field can be increased at any time, but will be automatically filled when you create an active hire for the role. With this in mind, you need to ensure that this is set appropriately for the number of people you are actively recruiting for.
π€ Tip - You can set this on a vacancy template, so that the positions available will copy in when you create a role from that template. This helps to ensure that you are always recruiting for the correct number of people.
Positions Remaining
When you create an active hire, the number of positions available recorded within the field will remain the same, whilst the Positions Remaining will tick down to show the number of places still to fill. This allows you to accurately report on the number of people you set out to hire, against the number still outstanding.
You can see this against the field within the requirements section, as well as within the vacancy summary and the vacancy grid views.
You can also display this information on your dashboard, using widgets to display both the positions available and those remaining. To do this, you need to add a vacancy metric, aggregated by the number of positions available or remaining.
