As we grow Eve’s skills and your flexibility in usage, we aim to introduce more feature functionality. Here are some answers to frequently asked questions, to help you get the most out of Eve's Playbook functionality.
What are Playbooks?
Playbooks are a new type of skill that helps users save and easily re-use messages (aka prompts) for repetitive work. When a user teaches Eve a new Playbook, it is saved in the Skill Library for later use. Like other Skills, Playbooks can be shared with other members of the team.
A number of predefined Playbooks come with Skill Library to help you get started more easily.
What features are included with Playbooks?
Users are able to:
Use predefined Playbooks from the Skill Library
Run Playbooks from the Skill Library
View Playbooks from the Skill Library
Teach Eve new Playbooks
Edit Playbooks that they created
How does this impact existing Skills?
The capabilities of existing Skills are not impacted.
What is the different between Playbooks and Tasks?
Existing Skills, provide Eve with high-level instructions about the task the user is working on, and how Eve should perform work related to those Tasks.
Here are some examples of what can and should be included in Tasks (and Instructions):
Details about a firm and type of law:
I work at an Employment Law firm that represents Plaintiffs…
Details about how the user would like Eve to respond:
Please make sure to respond in a detailed and comprehensive legal tone…
Details about a case the user is working on:
Here are the details about my client's case:…
Playbooks can be thought of as the commands to send to Eve to help work on different parts of the overarching Task.
Here are some examples of what can and should be included in Playbooks:
Asking Eve to draft a specific type of document:
Please draft a legal correspondence to opposing counsel…
Asking Eve to summarize a document in a certain way:
Please summarize this piece of case law. Make sure to include the following sections…
Asking Eve to brainstorm interrogatories:
Please come up with a list of special interrogatories based on this complaint…
⚠️ Some of the ways that Instructions have been used historically can now become Playbooks.
Specifically, any Instructions that look like the following should be converted to Playbooks:
I have provided a transcript of a phone call between a law firm and a potential client.
When I say “Analyze” do… When I say “Extract” do…
Converting these Instructions to Playbooks will lead to higher accuracy results and make it easier to use!
Can users edit or copy predefined Playbooks?
No, users can’t edit predefined Playbooks (or Playbooks that were created by other teammates).
That being said, after using a predefined Playbooks, it is very easy for users to click on the teach icon to create their own custom version of the Playbook:
Note that you can copy the individual messages of a playbook to your clipboard as you work to create your own playbooks skill.
Whats the difference between viewing and running Playbooks?
From the Skills window, users have the option of either running or viewing a Playbook before running it:
For most users (especially new users), simply running a Playbook is the right option, as it will automatically kick off the Playbook, ask you to select the needed documents, and start sending messages to Eve.
For more advanced users, they may want to view the Playbook, understand its results, edit them as needed, and create more tailored Playbooks to fit their practice. For more information on creating your own Playbooks, click here.
