Summary
Teach Eve to perform instructions based on your set process by teaching Eve a “Skill”. Skills are pre-set templates that you and your team can use to run through routine tasks.
In this section we will teach you how to create your own skills, either from a premade template or from a blank slate.
Recap:
Let’s recap the two types of skills that you can have in Eve.
First we have task-based skills. Tasks are the context for your project. Tasks will allow you to provide key information about your case and work at hand. For example, the case details, parties involved, etc.
Playbooks are preset prompts that will automatically run you through the great questions and requests for the task at hand.
Think of tasks as the overarching background to the work where you can populate instructions and be able to input your context for the case. And playbooks as your prompts: your questions and inquiries that execute on your work.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Teaching A New Instructions-Based Skill
Step 1: Open the “Teach Eve” feature
To access the teaching functionality, click on the "Teach Eve" button, symbolized by a magic wand, to start creating a new skill.
Step 2: Create a New instructions-based Skill
If you selected the “Teach Eve” button at the top of your screen, select the "Instructions" button to initiate a new task.
(Note: if you selected the wand above your instructions tab, you will automatically be taken to the “Instructions” skill type)
A pop-up window will appear, allowing you to draft the content of the new skill.
If there is existing text in your instructions tab, it will automatically populate as the base for your new Task.
Step 3: Provide Detailed Instructions
Now you can populate your Instructions.
Try to include key information such as details about your firm, the type of law, and specific case details. We recommend that you follow this format.
Tell Eve about yourself and your firm
Tell Eve who you would like her to be
Tell Eve what role you’d like her to play, and how to answer your questions
Customize the instructions to reflect how you want Eve to respond and the context of the task.
Step 4: Name and Describe Your New Skill
After detailing your Instructions, click "next" to name your skill and provide a description.
Eve will auto-generate a name and description, but it is best-practice to give as much detail as you can on your skill so that you and your team members can leverage it at the right times.
Next, decide whether to share the skill with other users in your organization by checking the “Share with Team” checkbox.
Lastly, choose or create a category for your skill to be saved under. To create a new category, simply type the name into the category bar and select “Create” in the dropdown.
Once you’ve populated all the fields, press “Confirm” to save the new skill into your skill library for future use.
