Add & Edit Map Objects

Objects allow you to build your event layout by placing infrastructure, equipment, and key elements onto your map. You can move, group, and customise objects, as well as manage their attributes and styling.

Add Objects

To add an object, open the Object Library in the left-hand panel.

You can:

  • Search for an object

  • Browse by category

Once you've found what you need, click and drag the object onto the map. You can then move it into position by clicking and dragging.

Move and Group Objects

You can move multiple objects together by holding Shift and selecting multiple items.

To group objects:

  1. Select multiple objects using Shift + Click

  2. Right click

  3. Select Group

Grouping allows you to move objects together and keep your layout organised.

Attributes Tab

When you have selected an object on your map, on the right-hand panel, you'll find the Attributes tab. Here you can update object details including:

  • Name

  • Status

  • Size

  • Supplier

  • Department

  • In date / Out date

  • Tags

  • Custom attributes

  • Add custom attributes

  • Add attachments (e.g. PDF/PNG)

Editing Large Quantities

If you're working with large quantities (for example, 80 toilets) you can edit these attributes in the Equipment Manager instead of updating each item individually.

See the Equipment Manager tutorials for more information.

Style Tab

In the Style tab, you can adjust how objects appear on your map.

You can:

  • Adjust opacity

  • Change colours

Using the three dots in the top right of the details panel, you can:

  • Create a custom object - this saves the object with its dimensions and styling for reuse

  • Apply style to all - apply the same styling to all matching objects already on the map

This helps you maintain consistency across your layout and save time when working with multiple items.

AI Generate Objects

If you can't find what you need in the object library, you can use AI Generate to create a new object. This is the purple + icon in the left-hand panel.

Simply enter:

  • The object name

  • Folder location

  • Default dimensions

  • Any additional information

EventLab will create a new object ready to use.

Next Steps

Now that you're familiar with objects, you can:

  • Create locations

  • Add fencing

  • Use drawing tools

  • Organise your layout
