Navigate the Map Interface

Learn how to navigate the EventLab map interface and understand where everything is located. In this video, we walk through the key areas of the map interface. Understanding the layout will help you work faster and build your event map more efficiently.

Map Canvas

The centre panel is your map canvas. This is where you build, edit, and draw your event layout.

You can:

  • Move and position items

  • Adjust layout placement

  • Select and edit objects

Left Panel

The left panel contains your drawing tools.

From here, you can:

  • Search the object library

  • Use the AI generator to create an object that is not in the object library

  • Add objects

  • Add locations

  • Add fencing

  • Add shapes

  • Add personnel

  • Add routes and roads

  • Add signs and markers

  • Access your custom object library

Right Panel

By default, the right panel displays your layers and categories. These are grouped for convenience, but you can expand them to see individual items.

You can:

  • Show or hide layers/categories

  • Show or hide individual items

  • Organise your map visually

When you select an item, the right panel becomes your details panel.

In the attributes tab you can:

  • Edit attributes including name, status, dimensions, supplier, department, in date, out date, tags and custom attributes

  • Upload attachments such as invoices or build specifications

In the styles tab you can:

  • Adjust opacity

  • Change colours

Using the three dots in the top right of the details panel, you can:

  • Create a custom object - this saves the object with its dimensions and styling for reuse

  • Apply style to all - apply the same styling to all matching objects already on the map

This helps you maintain consistency across your layout and save time when working with multiple items.
