Access Inventory Items on the Map
Open any event map and expand the Inventory folder in the left-hand panel.
This folder contains all inventory items currently available to be placed on the map.
To place an item:
Open your event map.
Expand the Inventory folder in the left-hand panel.
Select an inventory item.
Click on the map to place it.
As inventory items are placed, EventLab automatically tracks how many have been allocated and how many remain available.
For example, if you have 88 chairs in inventory and place 10 onto the map, EventLab will show that 10/88 are allocated
Track Inventory Usage
Inventory-linked objects automatically update inventory quantities as they are used.
When all available inventory has been allocated, the item becomes unavailable for further placement.
This helps prevent over-allocation and ensures your maps accurately reflect the equipment you actually have available.
Link Existing Map Objects to Inventory
If you've already created objects on your map, you can retrospectively link them to inventory items.
To link an object:
Select the object on the map.
In the right-hand panel, select Link to Inventory.
Choose the matching inventory item.
Save the link.
The object will now be tracked against your inventory quantities.
If required, you can unlink the object at any time using the same button.
Add Map Objects to Inventory
The process also works in reverse.
If you've placed an object on your map and later decide it should become part of your inventory:
Select the object on the map.
Open the three-dot menu.
Select Add to Inventory.
Complete the inventory details.
Save.
The item will be added to your Inventory Manager and can be tracked like any other inventory asset.
Quantity-Based Inventory Tracking
Inventory tracking is particularly useful for quantity-based infrastructure such as:
Fencing
Festoon lighting
Other linear or quantity-based assets
For example, if your inventory contains 120 metres of temporary fencing and you draw a 10 metre fence line on the map, EventLab automatically records that usage against your available stock.
When You Exceed Available Inventory
If you attempt to use more inventory than is available, EventLab will alert you and provide options to continue.
Option 1: Split the Line
EventLab will allocate the available inventory to part of the object and create a separate section for the remaining quantity.
This allows you to clearly identify which portion is covered by inventory and which portion will need to be supplied elsewhere.
Option 2: Use No Inventory
You can choose not to link the object to inventory and instead manage it through a supplier or external source.
